Lowell had the pleasure of interviewing author, J.K. Hawkins. Miss Hawkins is a first time children’s book writer who developed her most notable character, Alice , at the young age of eight. Since then she has written twenty stories for the "My Weird Family Series (TM)" , the first of which is "My Vampire Cousin.”

Thank you, J.K.!

The May Cool Contest Challenge was judged by award-winning, multi-published author, Debra Mullins. The challenge was to submit the first three pages of your unpublished manuscript. After much consideration, we decided not to print the winner’s first three pages, but rather a blurb of the whole book. The decision was made to protect the author during her quest for an agent and/or publisher.

And the winner is…

Congratulations to our May Cool Contest Challenge Winner – Kathy Lloyd for her manuscript, Violet Gets the Blues – Urban Fantasy with Romantic Elements

We received well over 100 entries and they were fantastic! Thank you to all who entered! We wish you much success with your writing!

Guest Judge - Debra Mullins - sent the following note:

“I had a great time judging the contest.  So much creativity and cleverness out there!  It was very hard to pick only one winner.  All of you, keep on writing!”

Thank you, Debra! We appreciate you taking the time out of your busy schedule to judge our contest! You’re the best!
